BUFFALO 311 CALL and RESOLUTION CENTER
If you have a concern that is related to streets, sanitation, trees, animals, parking, utilities, graffiti, or non-emergency police services; the City of Buffalo has the Buffalo 311 Call and Resolution Center. It provides citizens with a highly effective system which produces quick results. This resolution system is for non-emergencies and any inquiry can be made anonymously. The Buffalo 311 Call and Resolution Center can easily be reached by calling 311 or 851- 4200.
MEET YOUR D-DISTRICT POLICE OFFICERS
Do you want to gain some insights into what happens on Hertel from a police perspective? D-District Police Chief Barba holds an open meeting on the first Wednesday of each month to hear concerns and update the community on what is happening in the D-District. The meetings generally take place at 11 am in the BPD station at 669 Hertel. But, the Chief occasionally holds the meeting in the evening so contact the precinct to find out the month's meeting time. GARBAGE RECYCLING
Buffalo’s has a public initiative to go green and increase the city’s recycling rate from the currently 26% to above the national average of 34%. Recycling has never been easier, and benefits everyone. Guides are available to determine what goes in the green tote, what goes in the blue tote and what to drop off, as well as the city’s laws for refuse and recycling collection.
BLOCK PARTIES
Planning a block party in your neighborhood? The City of Buffalo Department of Public Works requires that you file a permit and all new block party applicants must demonstrate support from 75% percent of residents as a condition for approval by the department for the event to take place.
